2-year rotational programme designed to give you depth and breadth of experience.The Global Transaction Banking graduate programme imparts understanding of payment products' importance in our Corporate Banking offering. You will innovate payment solutions for global companies, mastering end-to-end product management with risk controls. Completing the programme will equip you with solid corporate product knowledge for a Corporate Banking career. You will also collaborate with key stakeholders, including tech and service partners, offering insights into the bank. You will receive training, project involvement, and collaboration with industry leaders, building a network for career growth.

We have teams focusing on Technology, Digital, Customer Experience, Data, Specialist Sales, Liquidity, Coverage, Trade, Structuring, Operations and Control. Our roles range across the product lifecycle from deep technical specialists to client-facing relationship managers and experts in data, risk and operational rigour. Our Product Managers act like entrepreneurs running their own small business from beginning to end.

Global Transaction Banking

Global Transaction Banking serves a diverse range of clients, including mid-sized corporates, large corporates, financial institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These clients are organised based on their specific needs: mid-sized corporates are typically owner-managed and single-banked; large corporates are multi-banked and aligned by industry sectors; financial institutions include banks, payment service providers, and alternative finance companies; and SMEs range from small businesses to more sophisticated financial institution clients.

We provide tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each client segment, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of service and support.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree – in any area.Ideally, you'll have a can-do attitude and have analytical skills. You'll have some experience translating data, and be a good communicator. We value resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which might be showcased through your involvement in extracurricular activities.

For the graduate programme: Please be advised that the 2026 Global Transaction Banking Graduate Programme is not one which we can offer sponsorship for at this time. Accordingly, applicants for this position will need to have the legal right to work in the UK on a full time basis from August 2026 to August 2028.

Following the graduate programme: Please note that the Global Transaction business area is currently deemed out of scope for sponsorship. Please be assured that we considered all factors very carefully, prior to making this decision. Accordingly, as it currently stands, you would not be eligible to receive a Skilled Worker Visa from Barclays at the end of the Graduate Programme if you obtain a role in this area.

Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the global transaction banking division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for transaction banking, participating in the development of payment solutions for global companies as well as end-to-end product management with risk controls.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for transaction banking.
  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
  • Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.
