The role Position: Senior eLearning Content Creator Contract type: Full Time - Permanent Reporting to: Head of Training & Development - London Location: Mumbai, India - Office based 5 days per week Role Overview We are seeking a high-calibre, creative, Senior eLearning Content Creator to join our Training & Development team in Mumbai. This individual will play a pivotal role in designing and producing innovative digital learning experiences for our global seafarer population. The ideal candidate combines deep creative flair, strong technical expertise in Articulate 360 (Rise + Storyline), and the ability to transform complex or compliance-heavy maritime subjects into engaging, modern, visually compelling learning experiences. You will operate independently but work in close collaboration with the training team and SME’s based in the London office. This is a strategic hire for our L&D function as we expand our in-house capability to produce high-quality maritime training content, including future VR-enhanced safety training and bespoke materials for our fleet. Initial performance will be assessed on production output and delivery timelines, progressing toward quality of learning experiences, creativity and innovation, continuous improvement, and the accuracy and maritime relevance of the content produced. This role will directly contribute to shaping the next generation of maritime learning at Zodiac. The role involves a balanced workload across design, development, and multimedia production. Prioritisation will be managed collaboratively with the Head of Training & Development to ensure realistic delivery expectations. In addition to working with Subject Matter Experts, this role is expected to consider where learning gaps exist, how training will be used in practice, and what will make a meaningful impact for the end user. Content should be designed to land with seafarers, not simply reflect source material, and should be appropriate to their environment, time constraints, and operational realities. Culture & Expectations At Zodiac, we work in a practical, collaborative, and learner-focused way. Our Training & Development team values clear communication, reliability, and straightforward problem-solving. You will be trusted to work independently, manage your own production pipeline, and raise challenges early when priorities shift. We encourage evidence-based decisions, open discussion about what will or won’t work, and a professional approach to feedback with SMEs and colleagues. Creativity is welcomed, but it must be purposeful and grounded in good learning design. As we scale our in-house content capability and expand into VR-enhanced learning, we expect this role to contribute practical ideas, maintain high standards, and help us build a consistent, modern learning experience across the fleet. Key Responsibilities eLearning Production · Design, develop, and deliver high-quality eLearning modules using Articulate Rise and Storyline as the primary tools. · Create microlearning content including short-form videos, explainers, animations, interactive elements, and assessments. · Assess training requests critically to determine the most effective learning approach, balancing business needs, learner context, and learning objectives. The role includes shaping our creative toolset. We are open to adopting additional software where it demonstrably enhances content quality Learning Effectiveness & Value · Ensure learning content is value-adding, outcome-focused, and aligned to clearly defined learning needs, rather than producing content for its own sake. · Apply learning design principles to ensure content supports behaviour change, understanding, or decision-making where required. Multimedia & Creative Development · Produce or edit animations, graphics, short videos, and visual assets to enhance learning engagement. · Recommend new creative tools, libraries, or production techniques to elevate the team’s output. · Contribute ideas around visual storytelling, UX, and learning flow to ensure content quality continuously improves. · Support VR learning development through scenario planning, scripting and storyboarding (no prior VR experience required). · Apply critical thinking when selecting learning formats (eLearning, microlearning, video, animation, or VR), ensuring the medium is appropriate to the learning objective rather than defaulting to a single solution. This role has creative ownership within defined learning objectives. We actively encourage proposing new formats, interaction styles, and visual approaches While Articulate 360 is currently our core authoring suite, we are not limited to a fixed toolset. This role requires someone who stays current with learning-technology trends and actively evaluates new tools and approaches that could improve effectiveness, efficiency, or learner engagement over time. Stakeholder Collaboration · Work with SMEs and the L&D Manager to shape learning solutions, challenging assumptions where appropriate and ensuring the final output addresses the underlying learning need rather than simply documenting information. Skills & Experience Required Essential · 5+ years of proven experience in eLearning design and development. · Expert-level proficiency in Articulate 360 (Rise + Storyline). · Demonstrated experience creating visual, interactive, multimedia learning assets. · High levels of creativity, with the ability to make technical or regulatory content engaging. · Ability to operate independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision. · Strong instructional design intuition, even if not formally trained. Highly Advantageous · Previous experience creating learning content in maritime, shipping, offshore, or technical safety-critical industries. · Previous experience in using Adobe Creative tools · Understanding of maritime terminology, operations, roles, and learning contexts. · Exposure to VR/AR or simulation-based training workflows. A portfolio showcasing at least three eLearning modules or multimedia learning assets is required. Regrettably, due to the high volume of applications received only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
