Education Regulatory/Compliance lawyers NQ - 1 & 3+ years’ PQE LONDON
Private practice law firm in London which is well-regarded for the work it does in Education law is looking to recruit two Education Regulatory/Compliance lawyers – one of 0 to 1 and the other of 3 or more years’ PQE. This firm has a specialist Regulatory & Compliance team which guides Education clients through their regulatory frameworks and help to manage the legal challenges that they face. Much of their work is driven by legal and political developments which makes for a constantly evolving and dynamic practice.
Working closely with the team lead for independent school practice, the successful candidates will assist in advising on admissions and exclusions (including appeals), managing student behaviour and disciplinary issues, safeguarding, special educational needs (SEN) and equality matters, handling complaints and claims (including tribunal work), and guiding schools through inspections and regulatory compliance. You will also provide critical incident management and reputation protection services - key areas for independent schools. If you are already qualified, any familiarity with issues such as fee disputes, parental complaints, and safeguarding obligations unique to the independent sector would be of interest.
For the more experienced role (3+ years), if you're an experienced Education lawyer with experience in parent and student matters as well as compliance with regulatory frameworks specific to independent schools, this opportunity could be for you. Ideally, you will have broad expertise across both contentious and non-contentious aspects of the work and will be experienced in advising independent schools, school groups, and governing bodies on a wide range of legal issues. If you are newly-qualified, our client will consider candidates who have undertaken a seat in either Education or Regulatory law (any sector). However, they will also consider any newly-qualified candidates who have a strong interest in the Education sector.
