RE Teacher – Deepen Theological Study and Lead Critical Religious Literacy Across the Curriculum – Waltham Forest
A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest is seeking an experienced and thoughtful Religious Education Teacher committed to driving theological depth and critical religious literacy from January 2026.
- RE Teacher required from January 2026.
- Waltham Forest-based school with an exceptional Humanities department and a clear focus on core skills development .
- Seeking an experienced educator with a focus on delivering challenging theological content at KS4/5.
You will teach Religious Education across KS3-KS5. The role requires the ability to deliver complex theological concepts clearly and foster critical, respectful philosophical debate in the classroom, alongside leading the department's strategy on disciplinary literacy.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a relevant degree in Theology, Philosophy, or RE.
- Proven record of outstanding results in a competitive secondary school environment.
- Strong ability to plan and sequence a broad and balanced KS3 curriculum.
- Commitment to contributing to the school's whole-school Literacy strategy .
