Geography Teacher - Outstanding School - Kingston upon Thames
A well-regarded Outstanding School in Kingston upon Thames is looking to appoint a passionate Geography Teacher to join its Humanities Department. This position would suit a teacher who enjoys combining strong subject knowledge with discussion, investigation and real-world examples.

ASAP Start
You will teach students across KS3 and KS4, covering a balance of physical and human Geography. Students will explore topics including rivers, coasts, ecosystems, climate, population, urbanisation, development and economic activity.
The department places importance on students being able to apply geographical knowledge rather than simply recall information. You will therefore use case studies, data, maps and contemporary examples to encourage pupils to investigate geographical issues and form their own conclusions.
At GCSE, you will prepare students for examinations while developing their confidence with geographical skills, extended writing and data interpretation. Fieldwork and enquiry-based learning will also form an important part of the curriculum where appropriate.
You will monitor progress carefully and adapt your teaching to ensure that students receive the right level of challenge and support.

Geography Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Geography Degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Geography experience
Strong knowledge of physical and human Geography
Confident teaching geographical skills
Strong classroom management
Excellent planning and assessment skills
Ability to use case studies effectively
Commitment to student achievement
Salary
The salary for this Geography Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
