Commercial Graduate Programme
Commercial Graduate Programme
About the Role
Looking to shape the future of energy while building a career that’s unique to you? At EDF, Success is Personal. Here, you’ll learn from experts, develop key skills and help Britain achieve net zero.
“As Britain’s biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity, I wanted to join EDF and help their efforts to provide clean, affordable and secure energy to everyone. EDF and their partners are ideally placed to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.” – Sandy, Commercial Graduate
The Opportunity
Alongside earning a salary of £35,000 per annum, you’ll join a structured development programme designed to build your commercial awareness, leadership skills and confidence. You’ll be supported by mentors and industry experts as you explore different areas of the business.
Over the course of this two-year programme, you’ll gain experience across a range of commercial functions – from digital channels and customer strategy to trading and market analysis. You’ll help shape innovative solutions that empower customers to reduce their carbon footprint and support the UK’s Net Zero goals.
This is your opportunity to step into a company where innovation thrives, ideas take shape, and the future of energy is being redefined. Be part of a team that explores emerging technologies and drives transformative change.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Commercial Graduate at EDF, you’ll gain hands-on experience across four six-month placements; developing technical and professional skills and contributing to meaningful projects that support the UK’s journey to Net Zero. As part of that journey, you will:
- Analyse market trends and trading decisions to support commercial strategy
- Identify risks and opportunities across digital and customer channels
- Collaborate with teams to deliver low-carbon solutions for customers
- Lead or support projects that improve customer experience and business performance
- Build your leadership skills through real responsibility and team collaboration
Your Work Location
You’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple UK sites, with flexibility to work from home on a hybrid basis. Whether you’re based in London, Exeter, Gloucester or elsewhere, you’ll be supported with practical and financial help to relocate or travel as needed.
Who You Are
To be eligible for this EDF graduate programme, you need to have achieved, or be expecting to achieve, a bachelor’s degree (2:2 or higher) in any field of study. We welcome applications from all disciplines – your attitude and ambition are what count.
We’re looking for strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking, communication skills and a passion for working in a customer-focused environment.
At EDF we work hard to maintain a culture where Everyone’s Welcome. We encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work. It is nevertheless a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility, we reserve the right in our decisions to give priority to those who already have the right to work in the UK.
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a starting salary of at least £35,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days and more.
At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.
