Year 2 Teacher | Croydon
We are seeking a committed and creative Year 2 Teacher to join a busy Croydon primary on a full-time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be part of a collaborative KS1 phase, delivering high-quality lessons, leading phonics and guided reading, and ensuring strong progress for every child. Starting January 2026, the Year 2 Teacher will join planning sessions, attend induction in January 2026 and begin teaching from January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
As the Year 2 Teacher you will plan and deliver systematic phonics, guided reading and sequenced writing units. The Year 2 Teacher will create practical mathematics lessons, run timely interventions and personalise learning for individuals. The Year 2 Teacher will maintain assessment records and communicate progress with parents and carers. The Year 2 Teacher will prepare resources in advance of January 2026 and will teach from January 2026.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
We are looking for a Year 2 Teacher with QTS or equivalent, proven KS1 experience and confident phonics practice. The Year 2 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to build strong relationships with pupils and families. Availability for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and a full-time start from January 2026 is essential.
