Project Planner

Robert Hurst Limited
London
About the Company:

Our client is a distinguished UK main contractor with over 30 years of industry experience, specialising in sophisticated residential renovations including listed buildings and conservation area properties as well as office-to-residential conversions.

Role Overview

As Project Planner, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating, scheduling, and delivering high-end residential fitouts, refurbishments, and luxury hotel projects. Your meticulous attention to detail, proactive planning, and ability to collaborate with elite architectural, design, and contractor teams will ensure seamless execution and exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities:

* Craft and maintain detailed project schedules using CPM-based planning tools.

* Set and manage critical paths, with mechanisms for regular updates and adjustments.

* Facilitate collaboration across architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to align expectations and milestones.

* Support tender processes with schedule-driven cost and duration forecasting.

* Track and report project performance against schedule and budget.

* Identify variances early, propose mitigation strategies, and drive resolutions.

* Proactively identify scheduling risks, forecast impacts, and implement contingency plans.

* Update schedules with approved changes swiftly to maintain accurate planning.

* Liaise with quality teams to ensure scheduling aligns with standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., listed building consents, conservation protocols).

* Be attuned to the intricacies of heritage-sensitive environments and luxury specifications.

* Plan and track labour, materials, and equipment availability.

* Coordinate vendor deliveries and on-site logistics to optimise flow in tight, high value build zones.

* Maintain comprehensive documentation of schedule baselines, revisions, and lessons learned.

* Utilise tools such as Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, or equivalent with precision.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* Proven background in planning or project control within residential refurbishment, heritage conservation, or luxury hospitality sectors.

* Proven experience in using Asta Powerproject for programme creation and management is essential.

* Proficiency in CPM-based scheduling, resource levelling, and critical path analysis.

* Skilled in stakeholder communication and proactive issue escalation.

* Exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, and time management.

* Demonstrable ability to work across multiple projects or phases concurrently.

* Relevant academic background or sector-specific planning certifications (e.g., APM, PMI) is advantageous
