Teacher of English | Newham | ASAP start
We are working with a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Newham to appoint a resilient and passionate English Teacher for a March start. This is a full-time, temporary position running until July, ideal for a teacher who thrives in alternative provision settings.
About the School This PRU provides a vital second chance for students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. The school focuses on small class sizes, high levels of pastoral support, and bespoke learning pathways. It is a highly rewarding environment where staff work closely as a team to re-engage young people with literature.
The Role The successful candidate will deliver the English curriculum to students at KS3 and KS4. The focus is on building confidence and literacy skills. You will need a patient approach and the ability to manage complex behavioural needs with empathy and firm boundaries.
Requirements
QTS and experience working within a PRU or SEMH setting.
The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Salary M1 – UPS3 (£39,000 – £58,000) per annum, pro-rata.
