Hays are recruiting on behalf of a leading Top 100 accountancy firm that provides a full suite of outsourced services to clients in the financial services sector. Your new role
You’ll be joining a specialist team that delivers accounting services to a growing portfolio of clients. This includes preparing management accounts, statutory financial statements (including consolidated accounts), and VAT returns. You’ll also supervise and review the work of junior team members, contribute to their development, and support the wider team with client pitches and process improvements. This is a varied and hands-on role with real scope for progression.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate would be:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or working towards qualification)
• Experienced in preparing statutory and management accounts, with a good understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102)
• Familiar with VAT returns, including partial exemption
• A confident communicator with client-facing experience, ideally within financial services
• Comfortable using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero (desirable)
• A team player with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a desire to mentor junior staff
