Investment Analyst Graduate

Swiss Re
London
Location: London, GB

Launch your investment career at one of the world's leading institutional investors. Join Swiss Re's Graduates Programme and become part of the Financial Markets Programme (FMP), our flagship rotational programme designed to develop the next generation of investment professionals.

About the Swiss Re Graduates Programme

We’re looking for curious, motivated graduates with strong interpersonal skills who want to grow, learn, and make a difference. If you hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree and have up to three years of professional experience, apply for our Graduate Programme starting on 1 September 2027(earlier start possible).

You’ll gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of reinsurance, rotate across different local teams, and receive tailored training to build your expertise. This is your opportunity to shape your career, help protect societies from the world’s most threatening hazards, and contribute to making the world more resilient.

Through a combination of structured on-the-job and off-the-job learning, you will accelerate your development while building technical and leadership skills in a world-leading reinsurance organisation.

About the Financial Markets Program

Selected candidates will join an elite track: the Financial Markets Programme (FMP), which is Swiss Re Asset Management's flagship rotational programme for early-career analysts who aspire to build a long-term career in investing across markets, asset classes, and real-world risks.

If you’re interested in investments, insurance may not be the first industry that comes to mind, but it should be. At Swiss Re, our investment work is central to how we create value and keep our promises to clients. We manage a large, sophisticated portfolio designed to generate investment income and match the different risks we take across Life and Health, Property and Casualty, Specialty lines and global currencies.

You will rotate across several investment teams spanning public and private markets, gaining first-hand experience across the investment lifecycle. Working alongside experienced investment professionals, you will analyse markets, contribute to investment decisions and help solve real business challenges from day one.

Alongside your rotations, you will benefit from structured training, mentoring, exposure to senior leaders and support towards the CFA qualification. By the end of the programme, you will have developed a broad understanding of institutional investing, built a strong internal network, and established the foundation for a specialised career within Swiss Re Asset Management.

About the Role

As an Investment Analyst in the FMP, you will develop a 360° view of investment management within insurance while contributing across the investment value chain. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Rotate through 3-4 investment teams (e.g. Private Debt, Public Fixed Income, Rates, Insurance Linked Securities) for at least 18 months

  • Analyse financial markets and investment opportunities to support investment decisions

  • Assess portfolio performance, risk exposures and macroeconomic developments

  • Contribute to investment strategy, portfolio construction and capital allocation decisions

  • Support due diligence, investment recommendations and transaction execution

  • Prepare materials for investment committees and senior stakeholders

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve investment processes and innovation

  • Apply data, quantitative tools and emerging technologies to enhance investment analysis

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders

You’ll follow a development plan tailored to your strengths, with structured feedback and visibility across Swiss Re Asset Management.

About the Team

Swiss Re Asset Management invests the assets generated from our core insurance and reinsurance businesses. We deliver sustainable performance through a disciplined, long-term investment approach and a high-quality, risk-aware portfolio.

As part of the FMP, you will join a community of high-potential analysts embedded across investment teams. You will work in a collaborative, high-performing environment that values curiosity and continuous learning.

About You

We are looking for people who:

  • Have completed, or are about to complete, a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or another quantitative discipline; relevant master’s or doctoral degrees may also be considered

  • Have no more than three years of professional experience

  • Are intellectually curious about financial markets and the global economy, with the drive to learn quickly, challenge your thinking, and apply new concepts to real work

  • Have demonstrated academic rigor through course selection and performance; a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 is expected

  • Think analytically, solve complex problems and enjoy working with data

  • Are self-reflective, seek feedback, and apply it to keep growing

  • Build strong relationships and adapt your style to collaborate effectively across teams and cultures

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Take ownership and demonstrate integrity, sound judgment and attention to detail

  • Use Excel and other analytical tools to generate insights from data

  • Have familiarity with tools such as Python, SQL, VBA, Bloomberg or Power BI

  • Are experienced using AI tools and curious about how they can enhance analysis and make work more efficient
