SEN TA - Newham
A forward-thinking primary in Newham is seeking a skilled SEN TA to join the SEN team from January 2026. The SEN TA will support pupils’ access to the curriculum, deliver targeted programmes, assist in developing social skills and contribute to behaviour support plans. This SEN TA post in Newham will start January 2026, with induction and handover provided prior to January 2026.

• SEN TA to assist with interventions, differentiation and pastoral support
The SEN TA will liaise closely with the SENCo to implement personalised approaches, monitor pupil progress and adapt resources. The successful SEN TA will be flexible, confident in restorative practice and experienced in supporting a range of additional needs. Working in Newham, the SEN TA will be part of a team focused on ensuring every child can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils and small groups to access learning and develop skills.
- Deliver structured interventions and record their effectiveness to inform planning.
- Assist with pastoral care, social skills groups and behaviour strategies across Newham.
- Prepare differentiated resources and adapt classroom activities to meet pupil needs.
- Communicate progress to teachers, the SENCo and parents and contribute to review meetings.
Person specification
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND in a school or specialist setting and practical intervention knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patient approach and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Organised, reliable and available to commence January 2026 in Newham.
