Background

This is an exciting opportunity to join Entain’s Internal Audit global function.

You will be working for a FTSE 100 company responsible for over 27,000 employees worldwide, generating annual revenue of over £2bn annually. The Group has key operations in Belgium, Australia, Gibraltar, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Croatia, USA and the UK.

The business is looking to recruit talented, experienced auditors who share a passion for delivering value and quality and will be working closely within a highly skilled and trained audit team.

The role will provide a high level of access across to management as well as involve working closely with all areas of the business both nationally and internationally. 

The Internal Audit function will provide an excellent opportunity for exposure to the entire Group and can provide a great stepping stone into business as future executives of the organisation.

 

Role Purpose

As the Internal Auditor, your primary responsibility will be to provide independent, objective assurance as to the effectiveness of the organisation’s control framework. This will be primarily through participating in the delivery of the annual audit plan to the business. As such, you will be responsible for working closely with the business to deliver that plan and partnering the senior auditors and management executives to design effective remediation plans for any issues arising.

You will be responsible for the execution of the audit fieldwork as part of the overall management of the audit lifecycle. The reports issued will provide a fair and balanced view of the observations made in fieldwork through the provision of clear and concise reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of audits assigned to you from the annual audit plan, including planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up. Audits could include:
    • Operating units and support office functions
    • Taxation matters including assurance around the company’s facilitation of tax evasion compliance framework or permanent establishment framework managemet
    • Regulatory compliance processes and corporate governance management systems
    • GDPR and data privacy management
    • In-flight and completed strategic projects
  • Develop a keen understanding of the business and how systems and operations function and interact with one another to promote good control and encourage control improvements across the Entain group
  • Partner with other specialist departments in security, compliance, fraud and investigations work
  • Keep up to date with changes in statutory legislation and regulations
  • Ensure that all audit work is completed against agreed quality standards, to specified timeframes
  • Perform audit testing as required to complete audit fieldwork through undertaking meetings with auditees, conducting document reviews for quality, accuracy and specific issues and undertaking data analysis
  • Present all audit working papers to a professional level being sure that all fieldwork is clearly organised, papers are neatly and accurately presented, testing is fully documented with results clearly indicated and risk and control matrices are accurately completed against the evidence obtained during fieldwork
  • Partner the business in designing remedies for any issues identified, exploring possible solutions with the key stakeholders
  • Complete regular follow-up as required on all open issues, working with action owners to monitor progress and update risk ratings as risk is successfully mitigated
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and support other ad hoc projects as they arise
  • Develop long term working relationships with key business stakeholders and within the IA and Finance functions

  • Previous operational audit experience with an audit team is essential, at a minimum of 2 years experience
  • Additional

    qualifications

    would be beneficial (CIIA, CISA) or the willingness to work towards one is essential

  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Strong numeracy and the ability to analyse and present data 
  • Excellent written English to be able to communicate clearly and precisely
  • Highly motivated, honest, approachable and collaborative individual
  • Strong communications skills; clear and concise communicator (written and oral)
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
