Junior Technical Product Specialist

The Role:
We are seeking a highly technical Product Specialist to drive the roadmap, and execution of development for two of our products: populAI (an LVC training platform) and dominAI (AI powered C2 system). You will work at the intersection of engineering and product to translate user requirements to technical development items, and have the ability to discuss implementation options with Engineers.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, combined with the ability to align product decisions to customer value and business outcomes. We do not expect you to have prior business experience, simply a technical background and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Product Specialist
Understand user requirements
Justify product prioritisation decisions
Writing stories for a technical user to enhance the product
Collaborate with Engineering to discuss implementation options
Collaborate with Engineering to ensure any scope questions or blockers are cleared
Clearly communicate product demonstration “scripts” to Engineering and Field Engineering
Take ownership of sign off of user stories in sprint reviews
Ownership of maintaining the Hadean lab
Own our demo lab experience from creation to delivery
Supporting the run of customer demos in lab
Risk Management
Effectively communicate risks to delivery of technical solutions to the Product Team to ensure we can jointly mitigate
Where appropriate, propose technical solutions which could mitigate risks and issues
Backlog Management
Understand key dependencies within the product backlog
Advocate for prioritisation where necessary
Customer requirements translation
Work with our Field Engineering team to understand key client requirements
Join customer meetings to be the ‘voice of product’
Represent the Product department to communicate when requirements intersect with the roadmap
Analyse multiple customer requirements and propose technical solutions which best support multiple requirements in a single solution
Skills required:
Computer Science degree (or equivalent technical degree / experience)
Strong technical background in:
C++
Linux
JavaScript (React)
Understanding of, or willingness to learn:
Cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, container orchestration)
Networking or real-time systems
High-performance computing or large-scale simulation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Competent at writing technical acceptance criteria for Engineering teams
Ability to negotiate / advocate for product decisions
