Pastoral Support Worker – Secondary School Location: Newham Contract: Full-time / Long-term / Short-term Start: ASAP or next termDBS and referenves are essentail so ensure you can get these before hand. They need someone who listens.We’re working with a welcoming secondary school looking for a Pastoral Support Worker who knows that behaviour is communication and that relationships change everything.This role is all about being that steady, trusted adult in a young person’s day. The one who notices the quiet ones, de-escalates the tough moments, and helps students get back on track, emotionally and academically.What you’ll be doing: Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need a bit of extra support Helping students regulate, reflect, and reset so learning can happen Liaising with teachers, SLT, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Being a calm, consistent presence in busy school days This role could suit you if you’ve worked as a: Pastoral Support Worker or Behaviour Mentor Youth Worker or Family Support Worker SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor Sports coach or support worker with strong behaviour experience We’re looking for someone who: Is calm, patient, and confident with secondary-aged students Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches Can build trust quickly and set clear boundaries Cares deeply about helping young people succeed, not just cope Why work with Protocol Education?
