As the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer you will be collaborating with a cross functional team to build engaging consumer journeys, personalized presentation templates, and dynamic consumer audiences to help foster a meaningful relationship with consumers.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing Automation, the ideal candidate must have strong experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform along with database and SOAP/RESTful/Transactional API integration knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders and team members to understand opportunities and translate into platform capabilities.
- Attend regular agile ceremonies and be able to present progress.
- Develop functionality in campaigns using SFMC platform including leveraging native platform features as well as the various studios (journey, data, automation, audience, mobile, etc.).
- Unit test work and work with QA teams to fix bugs and certify capabilities and products.
- Manage and monitor developments (automations, journeys, reporting) in SFMC and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Assist in building custom programs that require using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud API and backend offerings and features.
- Assist in writing SQL statements for segmentation and creating custom audiences or outputs (must be able to write from scratch without using tools).
- Assist in scoping, troubleshooting, and maintaining current infrastructure as well as implementing new enhancements.
- Collaborate with commerce/service development team to determine best path for Salesforce platform implementation.
- Document marketing automation procedures and provide seamless hand-off to business operations team to utilize.
- Ensure development align with deliverability best practice (sender reputation, ESP nuances, …)
- Monitor of deliverability.
Key Accountabilities
- Daily updates of progress toward goals.
- Attend and participate in agile ceremonies.
- Develop and code automations, journeys, scripts, sql, cloud pages and deliver on time with high quality.
- Continue to evolve understanding of marketing strategies, platform capabilities and new technologies that may benefit business strategies.
- Must be able to follow directions and adhere to company standards and practices.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task several projects.
- Update user stories status in JIRA.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with non-technical personnel.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) is required.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and self-sufficient with the ability to drive intelligent and creative solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Ampscript, SSJS, and similar programming and scripting languages.
- Strong knowledge of the digital marketing email development, deliverability, and 3rd party integrations.
Education and Experience
- 2+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- 2+ years of coding experience in the following: HTML, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, SSJS, Ampscript, CSS, JSON.
- Experience with responsive email template development for various email applications and providers (Gmail, Outlook, Mobile, etc.)
- Experience with improving email deliverability. Experience with ReturnPath, SparkPost, Litmus, or other analytics tools.
- Experience with email and/or marketing automation software and integration with databases.
- Experience in agile SCRUM management practices and associated tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams/Slack, etc.)
- Certified in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud Consultant is preferred, but not required
- Experience in direct to consumer CRM at an enterprise level.
