Location: Sutton, South London
Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–15:30pm
Salary: £500–£600 per week
Start Date: September 2025

Students here may have communication difficulties, cognitive challenges, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs . Now expanding its dedicated team, the school is looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who is eager to develop their understanding of special educational needs and make a meaningful impact on children’s lives.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recent degree (2:2 or above) in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs and Disability , or a related field
- A genuine passion for supporting young people in their learning and development
- An empathetic, patient, and resilient nature
- A strong interest in building a long-term career in education, therapy, or child development
- Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
The Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a graduate to gain practical, hands-on experience within a supportive school setting. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant , you will have access to excellent training, modern facilities—including sensory rooms and therapeutic spaces—and a collaborative team of teachers and specialists.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing personalised support to students with additional learning and emotional needs
- Working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour, using evidence-based approaches
- Supporting students with ASD and communication difficulties to develop confidence and independence
- Collaborating closely with therapists, SENCOs, and teaching staff to ensure each child receives holistic, tailored support
- Developing your understanding of EHCPs , adaptive teaching and early intervention strategies
