Head of Ecommerce in London Area

London

Job description

This is your opportunity to run and grow a major European e-commerce business — with the resources, autonomy, and seniority to make a measurable impact across the UK and Europe.

Our client, a global group with iconic brands is seeking an exceptional Head of Ecommerce to take full ownership of the European direct-to-consumer website. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, giving you the autonomy to shape the digital roadmap, drive commercial performance, and elevate the customer experience across multiple European markets.

With full P&L responsibility, you will lead trading strategy, merchandising, and operational excellence to deliver sales growth, profitability, and market share.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Lead the digital flagship for an internationally recognised brand.
  • Full commercial ownership — P&L, strategy, and execution.
  • Senior remit covering the UK and European markets.
  • Balance strategic vision with hands-on trading and merchandising.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & P&L Ownership

  • Own the P&L for the European e-commerce site, delivering sales, gross margin, and EBIT.
  • Lead monthly P&L reviews, forecasts, and KPI tracking.
  • Build and execute trading strategies that maximise profit and conversion.

Merchandising & Range Planning

  • Develop seasonal Open-to-Buy plans aligned to budget and growth objectives.
  • Manage stock forecasting, allocation, and sell-through optimisation.
  • Curate digital product assortments that drive customer engagement and loyalty.

Marketing & Campaign Alignment

  • Work with marketing teams to deliver an integrated commercial calendar.
  • Balance full-price sales with strategic clearance and promotional events.
  • Align brand campaigns to maximise digital conversion.

Digital Experience & Operations

  • Lead UX/UI improvements to increase engagement and conversion.
  • Oversee site merchandising, markdowns, and promotional activity.
  • Use data analytics to optimise trading and customer experience.

Strategic Projects

  • Deliver omni-channel initiatives, operational upgrades, and platform enhancements to keep the business competitive.

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior digital commerce leader with full P&L experience (fashion, sportswear, or premium consumer goods preferred).
  • Strong merchandising, trading, and range planning expertise.
  • Data-driven, commercially astute, and comfortable making decisive calls.
  • Advanced knowledge of Shopify Plus (or similar enterprise platforms).
  • Fluent in English (additional European languages a plus).

Excellent Salary and Perks.
