Primary Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in the classroom, whether you’re an experienced TA or a graduate considering a future in teaching. The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range (EYFS, KS1, or KS2 depending on experience and preference). Your role will involve working with individuals and small groups to enhance learning, helping to manage behaviour positively, and contributing to a safe and engaging classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons Provide targeted support to pupils who may need additional help Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents Support children with reading, writing, maths, and creative tasks Promote a nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners Support classroom routines and behaviour management strategies ✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential) A calm, patient, and positive attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is an advantage An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one What We Offer: A supportive and welcoming school community Ongoing training and development opportunities The chance to gain valuable classroom experience Potential for long-term or permanent placement A rewarding role where no two days are the same!
