The HR Business Partner Mission:
We’re looking for a commercial, forward-thinking HR Business Partner to join Pentland Brands at our London HQ in Farringdon. As part of a collaborative HRBP team, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to shape people strategies that drive performance, growth and engagement. This is a hands-on role with real impact - balancing strategic partnering with day-to-day support, acting as a trusted advisor across the full employee lifecycle, and helping deliver people initiatives that genuinely improve how we work across our UK teams.
How you'll drive success:
Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver people strategies aligned to business priorities.
Build trusted relationships, influencing and constructively challenging to drive performance, engagement and cultural alignment.
Advise on organisational design, workforce and succession planning in line with the wider HRBP community.
Act as the primary HR contact for your stakeholder groups, providing pragmatic, commercially-minded advice across the employee lifecycle.
Coach and support managers on HR policies, processes and best practice, ensuring consistency and confident decision-making.
Work closely with HR Assistants and wider HR Teams (Talent, Reward, HRIS, Payroll & Benefits) to ensure accurate documentation, strong governance and compliant delivery.
Lead on ER matters, from day-to-day cases through to more complex and sensitive issues.
Provide balanced legal, commercial and cultural guidance to minimise risk and resolve issues effectively.
Build manager capability to address people issues early and appropriately.
Drive initiatives that enhance engagement and strengthen the employee experience.
Support engagement surveys and listening activity, translating insight into meaningful action.
Partner with leaders and the Change Team to deliver organisational change with clarity, care and impact.
Use people data and insight to inform decisions, spot trends and recommend targeted interventions.
Contribute to and lead UK People projects that improve ways of working, capability and consistency.
Collaborate across the People Function to continuously evolve our HR service and employee experience.
What you'll need to thrive:
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, with experience managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases.
Confidence to coach, influence and appropriately challenge senior leaders to achieve positive outcomes.
A commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate business priorities into effective HR plans.
Strong analytical skills, using data and insight to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, with experience improving engagement, inclusion and culture.
A strong understanding of DE&I and a commitment to building equitable, inclusive workplaces.
Confidence using HR systems and digital tools, with an openness to exploring how AI can enhance ways of working.
Experience supporting organisational change, ideally within a matrixed or evolving environment.
Experience in retail, consumer goods or fashion, familiarity with tools such as SAP SuccessFactors, Teamtailor or Qualtrics, and CIPD Level 5 or equivalent are advantageous.
Alongside a competitive salary and discretionary bonus, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing, flexibility, and life outside work. This includes generous holiday allowance with the option to buy more, hybrid and flexible working, enhanced family leave, pension and financial protection, wellbeing support, travel schemes, and generous discounts across Pentland Brands and selected retail partners. You can find full details of our benefits and perks on our UK Benefits page .
The Interview Process
We want our interview process to feel clear, straightforward, and supportive. If your experience and expectations look like a strong match for the role, here’s what you can expect next:
Talent Team Intro Call - A 30-minute video call with our Talent Team to get to know each other, talk through the role and your experience, and answer any questions you have.
Experience Interview - A more in-depth interview with the hiring manager to explore your skills, experience and approach, and how these align with the role, our principles, and our ways of working.
