Assistant Product Developer
JM Brands is looking for a full-time Assistant Product Developer to join the team in central London.
The successful applicant will assist the Commercial Team in developing Home Fragrance for some of the leading high street retailers.
What the Assistant Product Developer will be doing:
- Work cross-functionally with the Product Developer, Designers, Technologists and Merchandisers to develop commercial and profitable ranges from initial concept through to sign off.
- Support and input into the team's objective to build a commercial, customer-focused range through regular research into competitors, market data, insights and trend direction to inform decision-making.
- Supporting the Product Developer in creating and delivering a 6-9 month strategy for the client(s).
- Responsibility for administrative duties and approvals, including critical path creation and management, sample management and approvals, updating range plans and spec sheets.
- Work alongside the Compliance and QC team to ensure that ranges are developed to quality standards and that all necessary testing is completed before ordering.
- Build effective supplier relationships and support in supplier meetings, which could include briefing ranges, negotiating costs, chasing samples, or feeding back on samples.
- Achieve optimum product cost through effective communication of target pricing and cost negotiation with the supply base.

- Organised and proactive with the ability to multitask, prioritise and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Systems literate, including proficiency with Canva, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A great communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and maintain professional internal and external relationships.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience in a buying or product development role is a plus.
