OverviewAs an Insurer Broker Accounting specialist, you will serve as the embedded IBA Business Partner (BP) for a specific business sector within the Gallagher Specialty division.
This is a great chance to collaborate between the front office and the finance operation, overseeing important partner relationships and enhancing end-to-end processes.
Use your technical expertise to ensure Finance supports business by delivering top-notch customer service to all interested parties. This role is dynamic, offering challenges and rewards as you drive financial metrics, improve processes, and prepare for a new operating platform rollout in 2026.
How you'll make an impact- Act as the IBA BP for the designated business area and serve as the primary contact for addressing financial concerns from customers or partners.
- Support query resolution and manage the full end-to-end IBA process for urgent items, including cash, credit control, and payments.
- Conduct root cause analysis on advanced issues and provide relevant feedback to both the BAU IBA team and other collaborators regularly.
- Drive and monitor key IBA metrics, ensuring issues are reported, advanced, and trends are understood.
- Develop and nurture connections with important collaborators in the Business and IBA department, serving as a bridge to enhance relationships, performance, and address customer service issues.
- Support and complete process reviews and re-engineering in collaboration with Operations and wider finance teams to enhance efficiencies and the overall client journey.
- Identify areas of underperformance and track these to resolution.
- Ensure readiness for the transition to the new Novidea operating platform.
- Minimise the incidence of CASS 5 breaches in your allocated division and ensure quick resolution when they occur.
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with the business to ensure wide awareness and adherence to IBA processes.
- Develop and track important metrics/critical metrics for the team and offer assistance to achieve these performance standards, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Liaise with internal staff to ensure compliance with AJG policies, procedures, and external regulations.
- Adhere to AJG Professional Standards Manual and statutory requirements, particularly in areas such as Whistle Blowing and Treating Customers Fairly.
- Follow internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values, especially putting clients at the heart of our business.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
- Knowledge and experience of the insurance industry, including the London market.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of Balance Sheet and P&L analysis is beneficial.
- Operational Finance/IBA background necessary.
- Insurance industry experience is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail.

- Highly motivated to support improved performance across all IBA metrics, including debtor and creditor aging, bad debt minimization, and other factors like intercompany, funding, and unallocated cash.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Skilled in fostering collaboration and trust to achieve mutual goals.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
The job focuses on engaging with the business side and mandates that the BP be present in the office for at least four days per week.
