The Ethiopian Communication Authority (ECA) has launched a request for proposal for the award of two new telecom licences in the country.
The move is part of Government’s effort to open the telecom market and award two nationwide full‐service telecom licenses through a competitive bidding process. ECA launched the request for proposals targeting world-class telecom operators to become the new license holders within Ethiopia’s rapidly growing economy.
The Proposal shall remain open for a period of three months and many more telecom operators will be allowed to participate in the bidding process. The Ethiopian Communication Authority has a plan to award two telecom licenses by April so as to expand reliable and accessible communications for all Ethiopians
