Occupational Therapist (Maternity Cover)
As an Occupational Therapist, join the supportive team at Bromley Road in London– a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issue - where you will help people with mental health needs to develop new skills and build a brighter future. You will be working alongside the Occupational Therapy team as maternity cover from 1st August 2025 to 31st July 2026. You will have experience in managing a designated caseload and will be responsible for completing assessments, planning therapeutic sessions, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to service users care plans. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals. This role involves: Facilitating a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions. Planning and implementing interventions and therapeutic activities Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. Supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants. To be successful in this role: Current HPC registration and full BOAT membership with evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Knowledge and use of a range of OT assessments and outcome measures. Experience of working within a similar setting. BSc (Hons) or equivalent occupational therapy qualification Minimum of 1 years post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist Where you will be working: Location: 84-86 Bromley Road, Catford, London, SE6 2UR You will work at Bromley Road, a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issues, complex needs and complicated addiction problems. We accept service users who have a forensic history and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, amended 2007. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive support and risk reduction strategies, as well as providing opportunities for social inclusion and building skills for independent living. The team at Bromley Road work alongside service users, supporting them in their therapy programmes, building coping strategies and increasing their life skills. The aim at Bromley Road is to keep the length of stay to a minimum by planning discharge at the point of admission. Communication with families and valued support networks are encouraged by an experienced and values led staff team.
