The Supervisor, Community Use of Facilities, provides leadership to the department in the operation and administration of the program, makes recommendations for short- and long-range planning and supervises the Assistant, Community Use of Facilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and administer budget, track and collect funds, reconcile accounts and prepare bank reconciliations and complete other related financial activities.
- Supervise staff, including delegation of responsibilities, managing performance and conduct issues, completing performance appraisals and goal setting activities.
- Liaise with Operation Leaders regarding custodial overtime requirements.
- Implement and coordinate procedures for community groups and agencies using school and board facilities.
- Liaise with government organizations, municipalities, community agencies, schools and user groups regarding facility use.
- Review and make recommendations on policies, procedures, future expansions and funding opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve complaints and concerns.
- Ensure appropriate reporting is made to the Ministry of Education.
- Remediate operational and service concerns through research, problem solving, allocation of resources and follow-up through communication
- Respond to emergency situations and deploy staff as necessary
- Research and recommend improved materials, technologies, processes and techniques
- Maintain building condition monitoring during non-instructional times
- Coordinate and organize summer cleaning and specialized work projects
- Where required attend and support Board level committees such as Health and Safety, product review, CCAC, wood floor maintenance, etc.
- Prepare supporting documents for site visits and assisting with walk-throughs for Facilities Assessments and OSBIE audits
- Complete special assignments as directed by the Supervisor and/or Manager as requested.
Completion of a two-year post-secondary program in business administration or equivalent. Three years of related work experience is required.The position requires frequent use of the employee’s personal vehicle for travel to Board sites.
